Designing responsive furniture for millennial buyers

Qbito is a remarkable mobile wooden box that seamlessly combines architecture and furniture to offer a versatile solution for various functions: It serves as a platform for a queen-sized bed, a wardrobe, and even a garden on top, all while being easily movable with its four wheels.

The main goal for designing and building this unique unit was to incorporate all the essential elements of our loft within a single, adaptable structure that brought a human scale to the diaphanous, naked garage we lived in. The pod enabled us to maintain the open and spacious environment for our daily professional activities as a growing design studio, and occasional events, while also providing a cozy sanctuary for our private lives.

The interface design of the living pod was meticulously crafted to optimize functionality and harmonize with the surrounding space. Each facade features a distinctive layout, along with different shapes, sizes of windows, doors, and thresholds. This thoughtful arrangement allows for complete privacy whenever needed, such as for sleeping or dressing, while still accommodating the presence of our designers in the shared space.

Constructed using raw pine boards and slats, Naughty embraces the inherent beauty of wood, showcasing visible markings, knots, and grains. This intentional choice not only provides a sense of comfort but also connects the urban, gentrified neighbourhood in the heart of Barcelona with the calming essence of nature.
